New Zealand's leading provider of 3D Scanning for Reverse Engineering, Inspection and the creation of CAD Data.

While laser scanning is typically used to capture the shape and form of an object, FormScan 3D uses a non-contact structured light scanner which, in conjunction with photogrammetery offers several benefits over conventional laser scanning. The key benefits include the ability to scan virtually any size object, quickly, efficiently and accurately.

Depending on the item you need scanned or your specific requirements, FormScan 3D offers the flexibility to complete the project either from our studio or, for larger, less conventionally shaped objects or those that not easily moved, we are able to come to you. Throughout this website you can learn more about our what we do, the applications of 3D scanning technology, what our software capabilities are and how they extend the effectiveness of out equipment.

The two photos below demonstrate an example of 3D Scanning in practice. On the left is the original item, in this case a motor while on the right is the result of the 3D scan as completed by FormScan 3D. This digital output has many uses, one of which is the creation of a solid CAD model. To learn more about this this particular case study, and others like it, please visit our project portfolio.

Our objective is to provide customers with extremely accurate, highly usable digital information that is readily applicable to uses within the design, prototyping and reverse engineering fields as well as in the manufacture of items across multiple industries. FormScan 3D is able to provide scan data in a variety of different formats to suit customer requirements while, compared to alternative means of digitising the shape of an object, such as laser scanning, the 3D Digital Scanning services offered by by FormScan 3D are not only more accurate, but also more economical in terms of time and thus cost.

Should you have any queries about FormScan 3D, our services or equipment, please feel free to contact us or, to get an answer as quickly as possible, review our Frequently Asked Questions and Answers.
